TAO Education ...
because our Children are the Way!
<> TAO
Education is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides natural
history, leadership, and outdoor adventure experiences customized to
the special needs of school groups, youth groups, and low
income/disadvantaged youth.
Our newest
program: MYLS!
(detailed link under construction)
We are securing long term sustainability
for our organization with the launch of the Mountain Youth Leadership School--a
backpacking/adventure program for middle school age students. We
are currently fundraising for this unique summer outdoor leadership
program. Eight students will be selected from Tahoe/Truckee
Middle Schools to attend a tuition free training course with staff from
TAO. Upon successful completion, these students will co-lead backpack
trips with TAO staff into the Desolation Wilderness near Lake
Tahoe. Paying students from the local community (scholarships
available for lower income families) will attend fabulous backpack
trips in the High Sierra led by their peers AND highly trained TAO
staff. We are working with teachers to identify under-served
students with leadership potential in the local school district.
After the summer, they will be coached throughout the school year in a
coordinated effort to integrate leadership, community service, and
strong academics into a powerful a life skill set.
Please contact us for details on how you
can donate or get involved.
